New vendor for policy forms ordering as of December 14, 2007

We've changed our ordering system to make things better!

As of December 14, 2007, ISO is working with a new vendor — Broadridge Financial Solutions — for policy forms ordering. This change gives you an easier-to-use website and improved service.

You can access the new ordering system in one of two ways:

Method 1

Circular Numbers for Forms Available in the CLM

Beginning July 16, users of the ISOnet Commercial Lines Manual (CLM) will be able to see the Final Disposition Circular Number along with the other data related to the displayed form when they access the "Info" icon at the top of the document.

Boiler and Machinery - Equipment Breakdown Rename

As announced in circulars LI-BM-2006-052, LI-BM-2006-053 and LI-BM-2006-054 the Boiler and Machinery program (BM) is being renamed to Equipment Breakdown (EB). In support of this revision, all references to Boiler and Machinery on the search screens for the ISOnet CLM, ISOnet Circulars, ISOnet Forms Library and ISOnet FIRST are being changed to Equipment Breakdown.

Within these products, searches for Equipment Breakdown will return Boiler & Machinery content and Equipment Breakdown content.

New enhancement now available for State Filing Forms

We've added State Filing Forms Auto-Fill — the automatic way to fill in common fields -- to ISO's State filing Forms.

You just complete one master template with information required on most filing forms.  For example, enter your group name, company names, addresses, NAIC numbers, and other commonly used fields.  Then, every time you open a new form using the Auto-Fill option, State Filing Forms Auto-Fill makes the repetitive entries, wherever they appear on the form.  It can be used for both Word and Excel forms that were downloaded after 1/03/07.

You can update your master template whenever you have a change, so you'll never have to make manual updates to the basic information on multiple filing documents. Instructions on installing and using State Filing Forms Auto-Fill are available via a link on the State filing Forms home page.

Free Legislative Monitoring!

Insurers that subscribe to ISOnet Circulars, Manuals and Forms, now have access to Legislative Monitoring on ISOnet.

ISOnet Legislative Monitoring provides you access to a database containing information on all laws, regulations and court cases reviewed by ISO staff since January 1995. This data includes laws, regulations and court cases reviewed which impact ISO forms, loss costs and/or rules, policywriting support forms, and/or company procedures, for all lines of business serviced by ISO. Details include:

• summaries of the reviewed laws, regulations and court cases
• references to ISO filings and circulars
• effective and implementation dates

Legislative Monitoring creates summary reports, based on your specifications, that you can view online or print.

New enhancements now available for LOCATION^®

To make your property underwriting decisions easier, ISO is enhancing three LOCATION services.

We've expanded the LOCATION PPC™ Report to include these following items:

• Drive Distance to the Primary Responding Fire Station
• Responding Fire Station Name
• Alternative PPC
• Water Supply Type

We've expanded the LOCATION Wind Report - to include Citizens Property Territory for Florida.

We're made the LOCATION Premium Tax Report - available for New York.

ISO Rating Service - ISO Base Ratebooks now available on ISOnet

ISO Base Ratebooks on ISOnet provides updates to ratebooks for use with ISO Rating Service and AscendantOne Policy Management Suite.  The ISO Base Ratebooks contain the rating rules, loss costs and form attachment logic found in the ISO Commercial Lines Manual.  You can search for and download ratebooks, view the release notes for each ratebook and download the listing of the algorithms included in the ratebooks.

ISO Base Ratebook features include:

·         Generating premiums for quotes and policies

·         Mandatory and conditional form attachment

·         Detailed rating worksheets

·         Statistical Code assignment for policies

The companion ISO Rating Service Alerts sends you an email notification when new ratebooks that match your specified criteria are released.

LOCATION^® Territories are now FREE!

ISO’s LOCATION Territory Services are now available free of charge for participating insurers.  You’ll have access to territories for the lines of business and states for which you now participate.  Beginning January 2006, you’ll be able to download territories in the LOCATION tab-delimited database format to integrate directly into your own system.

LOCATION Territory Services help insurers assign accurate territory codes for:

• ISO businessowners territories
• ISO commercial auto territories
• ISO commercial earthquake territories
• ISO commercial property territories
• ISO general liability territories
• ISO Group II zones
• ISO personal auto territories
• ISO personal property territories

How can I access free territories?

The actual territory file downloads will be available through ISO’s secure website.  To sign up, we’ll send you the LOCATION Product Supplement (license agreement).  Simply sign and return, and you’ll receive a registration key with specific instructions on how to access your free territories.  Once you’re registered, you’ll have access to quarterly updates.

Action-Topic Option added to Circular Alert Service

We've added an Action/Topic selection to our daily circular alert email service.

Line of Insurance (LI),  Actuarial Service (AS), Agendas and Minutes(AM), and Information Services (IS) circulars are categorized according to the action they announce or the topic they address. Action/Topic categories include Approved, Filing or Submission, Legislative Monitoring, Trend, Availability, Catastrophe, and others. You can see the full list on the ISOnet Circulars Search page.

If you receive alerts for Line of Insurance (LI),  Actuarial Service (AS) Agendas and Minutes(AM) or Information Services (IS) circulars, you can now opt to refine your daily circular alert email service by selecting to receive notification of only certain Actions or Topics.  After you select an Action/Topic, only those circulars that meet your selections will appear in your circular alert. 

The link to circular alerts is located at the top of the ISOnet circular search screen.

When you access the circular alert subscription page, you will see a list of Action/Topics (applicable to the circular type in parenthesis after each Action/Topic) that you can receive alerts on, such as Trend, Availability, Catastrophe, or Approved, and so on.

After you make your selections, you will receive alerts only for those Action/Topics you selected.  It automatically defaults to All Action/Topics until you make your selections.

LOCATION^® Natural Catastrophe Service Now Available

LOCATION^® Natural Catastrophe Service helps manage your exposure to loss from hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, and earthquakes.  You get objective, accurate risk profiles from AIR Worldwide Corporation representing every address in the continental United States at risk from those perils.

With each peril (hurricane, severe thunderstorm, and earthquake) you’ll get:

• long-term average annual, 100-year, and 250-year loss-level information
• scores that show the risk at each location and the relative risk compared with other locations in the county and state

Hurricane

• physical characteristics of the risk location, including elevation and terrain
• storm-surge potential

Severe Thunderstorm

• tornado, hailstorm, and straight-line windstorm frequencies

Earthquake

• physical properties at each location, including soil type, potential for landslide, and liquefaction potential
• 100-year intensity return period (MMI)

Electronic product delivery to be updated to Office 2003 authoring software in 2005

Beginning in December, 2005, ISO will phase in delivery of documents authored in Microsoft® Word 2003 and Microsoft® Excel 2003 software.  We are taking this step to maintain pace with current Internet delivery technology.  

ISO-authored Office 2003 documents and spreadsheets will be used in these ISOnet products:

·      ACES,

·      Circulars,

·      Personal Lines Manual,

·      Forms Library and

·      State Filing Forms.

We will also deliver Word 2003 documents in these products:

·      ISO Suite+,

·      Electronic Forms on Disc (EFD) and

·      Electronic State Filing Forms (ESFF).

If you have not already done so, you should consider upgrading to Microsoft® Office 2003 software now.  In order to make the best use of the new ISO-authored Word 2003 documents and Excel 2003 spreadsheets, you will need either Microsoft® Office 2003 or Microsoft® Office XP.

While we strongly recommend you upgrade to Microsoft® Office 2003, you will be able to open, view, and edit Word 2003 and Excel 2003 files using Word 97 / Excel 97 or Word 2000 / Excel 2000.

In addition, ISO will continue to provide PDF files wherever they are provided today.
